Each month I get the pleasure of choosing a new single origin coffee to purchase and roast for our Origin Select project. While we always carry a standard selection of single origins representing some of our favorite growing regions, this gives us the opportunity to highlight some exceptional beans on a seasonal basis that we might otherwise have missed out on! Our Origin Select coffee this month comes from the the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea in Okapa. This sweet and savory coffee with tart fruit acidity is balanced nicely with sugary praline and citrus fruit flavors. Our roasters chose a medium roast to bring out the best in this Fair Trade certified...
Our Origin Select coffee this month comes from the Baxtla region of Veracruz. This smooth, easy-drinking coffee features soft orange blossom brightness, chocolate richness and a lingering chocolate and candied citrus finish. We decided on a medium/dark roast profile this month, to really highlight the cocoa notes inherent in Mexican coffees.

Mocha Java has a story almost as old as coffee itself… We’ve taken coffee from both of the original growing regions and roasted them individually (prior to blending them together) to bring out the best characteristics of each, creating what we believe to be a delicious version of this classic medium/dark roast, our Mocha Java Inaugural Blend!
We are excited to share with you that we have reached another huge milestone in our company history this past week when we installed a coffee roaster in the adjacent storefront to the café. That’s right…Perkolator Coffee now roasts our own coffee in house! We couldn’t be more excited to bring this kind of venture to our awesome corner of the city.
