Tarrazu is one of the most respected of traditional Costa Rica growing regions. Having personally visited the area early in our coffee career, there has always been a special place in our heart for Costa Rican Tarrazu Valley coffees. Coffee was originally brought to Costa Rica via Cuba in the late 1700’s, and within fifty years had surpassed cacao, tobacco, and sugar production in the country. The altitude and the nutrient rich soil give coffee a distinctive, intense flavor for which the Tarrazu valley has become known for. We bring our Costa Rican beans to a perfect light roast to preserve its delicate nature.
