Brewing Suggestions
From Northwestern Nicaragua, the Department of Nueva Segovia, this organically grown coffee is a topnotch example of a Nicaraguan coffee. While the classic roast profiles typically tend to lean to the darker side, we thought it would be a shame to cover up the subtleties of lemon, praline and herbal notes on the finish, so we chose a medium roast. This coffee was sourced via PRODECOOP, made up of 2,300 small producers of which about 30% are female. The cooperative is certified Fair Trade, exports about 30,000 bags annually and provides a long list of social initiatives that better the lives of the working families.
